Innovation from Industry – 12th to 14th July 2016
31st March 2016
In these difficult times, the NHS must embrace new ways of thinking about organising and delivering services. This may involve looking outside of our cultural norms for ideas and inspiration from other industries. There is a currently a great deal of interest in applying industrial engineering and systems techniques from Japan’s automotive sector to improve healthcare. We hope that you can join us at an innovative event at Nissan UK to learn about adapting Lean ideas from industry to improve safety and flow in healthcare. The event provides an opportunity for NHS improvement leaders to tour a world class manufacturing facility and debrief how the learning and concepts might be used to help improve quality and safety of healthcare.
Taking place over three days from Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th July 2016, the event is being delivered by Iain Smith, Head of the North East Transformation System with guest facilitation from David Fillingham, Chief Executive of AQuA (Advancing Quality Alliance). To facilitate the process of transferring concepts, Iain and David will share their experiences of introducing ideas from industry to improve healthcare and will facilitate discussion and debrief sessions with delegates. Factory tours will take place at Nissan Motor Manufacturing’s Wearside plant with learning, presentation and debrief sessions being held at the Skills Academy for Sustainable Manufacturing and Innovation (SASMI) which is adjacent to the plant.
The event is aimed at healthcare quality improvement leaders of all levels. As availability is limited to 30 delegates, early booking is advised.
(Booking fee and terms apply - discounts available for UK Improvement Alliance members, Q founding cohort participants or group bookings of four or more.)
